Prior to founding Liberty SBF, Mr. Cohen worked in fixed income trading and portfolio management at M&T Bank Corporation (MTB), where he helped manage the bank’s multibillion dollar discretionary asset portfolio of mortgage-related securities. During his career, Alex has focused on whole loan, structured product and corporate credit trading, and he has also worked in private equity focusing on transactions in the middle market sector. Alex graduated from New York University.

Mr. Landman is Chairman of the Board and Co-Chair of the Investment & Loan Committee at Liberty SBF. Bill brings 23 years of commercial lending and private equity investment experience to the team. He also serves as Senior Managing Director of the CMS Companies, a $2 billion investment firm. At CMS, Bill is responsible for all of the firm’s investment decisions. Since 1987, he has led over 50 private equity investments across a variety of sectors.

Prior to joining Liberty SBF, Mr. Prombaum served as a Senior Underwriter at Merrill Lynch Capital, the on-balance sheet, commercial finance division of Merrill Lynch and Co. Alex has also worked as an associate at Picerne Capital, a private equity firm focusing on the purchase of performing and performing loans backed by commercial real estate. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin.

Managing Director, Operations
Mr. Catalán brings to Liberty SBF his expertise in technology strategy, data science, business processes and software development. Mr. Catalán has served as Assistant Professor of Marketing and Supply Chain Management at the Fox School of Business of Temple University and has experience advising organizations of all sizes in a variety of sectors. In addition to having undertaken doctoral studies in Operations and Information Management at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Andrés holds a Master of Science in Management and a Bachelor and Master of Arts in Business Management and Administration, both from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, in Barcelona, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Engineering.
Director of Marketing
Mr. Cohen comes to Liberty SBF with an extensive background in marketing and communications helping to strategize content, advertising, search engine optimization and website management in the non-profit, banking and publishing sectors. He also has a background in writing and reporting and launched a hyperlocal news website, where he served as editor for over three years. He graduated from SUNY Buffalo with a B.S. in Graphic Design working in the early part of his career as an editorial and marketing designer for Hearst Magazines, Art in America Magazine and Interview Magazine in New York City.

Managing Director, Originations
Mr. Gardner brings to Liberty SBF a wealth of commercial real estate lending and portfolio management experience having spent the past 20 years as a senior commercial mortgage originator at several global financial institutions. Prior to joining Liberty SBF as Managing Director, Tim served as Executive Director at Rialto Mortgage Finance. Before that, Mr. Gardner spent 11 years originating CMBS and bridge loans at Morgan Stanley and GMAC Commercial Mortgage.

Prior to joining Liberty SBF, Mr. Notarfrancesco worked as a leasing agent in the Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. metro areas. His leasing experience includes both landlord and tenant representation, student housing lease-ups, as well as traditional multi-family leasing. He graduated from Temple University with a B.S. in Community and Regional Planning and from the University of Maryland with a Masters in Real Estate Development.

Associate, Loan Originations
Prior to joining Liberty SBF, Ms. Sachs worked at Honk Technologies where she established strong customer relationships while fulfilling roadside assistance needs. She graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles with an Associate of Arts Degree in Merchandise Marketing and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management. While attending FIDM, Amanda held several internships in Public Relations, Sales and Marketing.

Prior to joining Liberty SBF, Ms. Han worked within the commercial mortgage back securities, credit ratings division of Morningstar, Inc., focusing on structured finance, real estate underwriting, and the development of a Mumbai team for the division. Ms. Han graduated from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, double majoring in Finance and Economics, with a minor in Spanish.

Ms. McBride graduated from Neumann University with a bachelor of science degree in marketing. Prior to joining Liberty SBF Ms. McBride worked at Beneficial Bank in the Cash Management Department Specializing in Escrow and Corporate customer accounts.
Prior to joining Liberty SBF, Ms. Schmidt worked as an executive assistant to the founder of a private wealth management firm. Her role included office management and administrative support. Ms. Schmidt graduated from the Art Institute of Philadelphia with a degree in Fashion Marketing and worked in the fashion industry for several years for Guess? and Free People in the roles of sales and assistant merchandiser.

Managing Director, Loan Closing and Servicing
Prior to joining Liberty SBF, Ms. Weiss worked as an associate at Paul Hastings, an international law firm where she worked in the commercial real estate group. During her career, Leah has participated in large real estate transactions both purchase and sales as well as financings and has expertly developed and implemented legal- related closing and post-closing procedures. Leah holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan, as well as a J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University.
